Inky Hands

Inky Hands Press was formed by Fran and Hollyanne early in 2018, after going separate ways for a year after uni they came back together to share their love of all things inky.

We strongly believe that good art comes from getting a little messy and the best ideas come about over a cup of tea. 

They hope to combine their diverse talents using type, ink and an interest in history and literature to create illustration together.

Hollyanne (Lelly)

 

Hollyanne loves exploring the marriage of word and image. Using mostly traditional media and various printing methods she enjoys exploring text through illustration. She has a strong interest in zine culture and Gothic literature and has aspirations to publish an illustrated novel. Having discovered letterpress she'd love to fill a room (or maybe two) with ink and wood type and spend her days printing. She's currently working on her first major commission of a children's book.

Fran

 

Fran's art ranges from ink, to paint, to digital held together with a strong and distinct use of line. When not drawing she's usually writing about history. A theme that usually appears in her art. Fran would quite like to write out old manuscripts all day and likes practicing various calligraphic forms of poetry and books. She has been published three times including illustrating a book for renowned author Nicola Davies and designs movie posters for comic con in her spare time.

 

Ryan

 

Ryan is not an artist but probably could be if he wanted. He mostly acts as an impartial art critic, lifts heavy boxes of paper, and reaches things off high shelves. Ryan doesn't have much of a choice but to get inky and is always around to help at events and share ideas. He also makes a pretty good cup of tea.
